I found that the only way to control EP-4 program change through MIDI control is to create a new bank with frequently used EP-4 programs. If I set the channel for EP-4 for any other number, then changing the MIDI program number within the keyboard preset does not result in a switch to a different EP-4 program.I’ve also found that even though my PC3 allows me to select the MIDI bank number within the keyboard preset, EP-4 is not responsive to this- in other words, I can change the MIDI bank number from 0 to 1 to 2, but the actual bank selected on the EP-4 doesn’t change. However, if I want to save the keyboard preset for quick access to a particular EP-4 program, the preset will only recognize the MIDI program number for that particular program if the MIDI channel for EP-4 is set for channel 1. I’m also using Cantabile Performer as my Host.When I create a preset on either of these keyboards to access a EP-4 program, I’m finding that I can set the MIDI channel for EP-4 without any problem. I’m using a Kurzweil PC3 and a Casio PX3 as MIDI controllers.
